Rule #1. Never believe what a dealer or it’s employees tell you. If they’re actually not trying to scam you, it will be rare.
I had a new 2001 pickup that had a bad rear gear set. Brand new, it locked up effectively. Whole new rear axle put in, same thing happened again. Got another new axle assembly. 3rd one was getting hot (but hadn’t locked up yet).
I went to arbitration because I thought it was a lemon. The dealer told me straight up, FU, you towed too much weight, denied. I was only towing about half the tow rating. They lied, but I didn’t have any more issues and one of the dealers had given me a 100k warranty due to the unusual problems, so I was covered in the event it crapped out again, but the important part is they were full of _____!
