Ok, I'll try it just one side at a time then. I had a thought in that if I jack up one side so that the shackles are more flat like they were before, (when the entire camper was on blocks) I could use a ratchet strap through the shackels and under the springs to draw them together so they are both in the up position. then I could lower it back down and keep the strap on the one side while I do the other side and once it's down it shouild be OK.
My shackles and hardware did have some wear on them when I re-assembled everything so that is probably what is causing my issues. However, I think once it's back in the correct position it will stay that way, it's not horribly sloppy or I would have replaced it.
