swing out jacks on a pop up TC - Are they available?

Has anyone had to do this?

I currently have a 05 Palomino Bronco 1500. Just got it this spring, put a lot of work into it. Not quite ready to upgrade to a hard side.

However I have discovered a good deal on a dually truck. I want a dually for when I snow plow and salt and the Fords have a larger back seat than the Dodge's do. i know you can get a mega cab, but I need the 8ft bed for the camper and the salt hopper.

Are there swing out jacks for smaller TC's?

Thanks for the input or comments.
  • Ah well, crisis averted for now.

You really don't need a dually to haul a B1500 anyway. Only reason I do is because I this truck practically fell into my lap. What's nice is even with the camper loaded it has enough payload left for any conceivable amount of tongue weight.
  • The swing-out brackets are specific to the JACKS, not the camper.

My B1500 has Atwood jacks, and the Atwood swing-out brackets fit perfectly. All I did was unbolt the jack from the mount on the camper, and install the swing-out bracket in between. It was hardly rocket science.

You may not have enough width even with the swing-out brackets, though.

The brackets I bought used off craigslist. Someone welded 2" extensions to them already, and my truck still only BARELY squeaks between the jacks.

There is <2" between the fender and the jack post, and my outer duals rub the jack feet.
  • Hallmark, Outfitter Pop up campers have swing out Dually jacks as options. I believe that Palomino would be similar.

  • I think the brackets are usually jack brand specific, but not camper specific so they should be.
