I'm thinking a 2011 - 2014 most likely. On those models the standard rear end is 3.08. With the HD trailering package it is 3.42. I'm wondering what the trade-offs would be.
It surprises me that yours would struggle with a 4000 pound trailer even with that engine. But, then, that's why I'm asking the question.
