First recommendation is 2013 Chevy Suburban 2500 or GMC Yukon XL 2500. They are rare, but all come equipped with the proper gear for a family to comfortably tow nearly any <6k dry TT. Half tons will be a little more tricky to find that it has the option gears, or towing equipment for example. And Then you need to consider if it has enough payloads for the family plus cargo plus trailer tongue weight of 700-1000 pounds. Powertrain - I like the 2015 Expy Ecoboost, but the GM 6.0L is no slouch.
