I am recommending the Denali to have the 6.2 engine. Otherwise, a LTZ has similiar equipment. I did not chose my Suburbans, they were selected for me.
I know that many people talk down on the 5.3 with the 3.42 rear axle, but I have towed my 9200lb trailer with one (50 miles - flat land) and it did fine. Yes, I would not race anybody, but it worked. I have towed 6k in livestock trailers with this engine, without any problems.
My current 2015 Silverado 1500 CCSB has the 3.08 and I did pull my livestock trailer without issue. My current mpg over 23k miles is 20.0 mpg. I could not ask for a better balance of power and economy.
