I am curious if you have actually looked at both an Expedition and Suburban/Yukon yet? In my opinion, the interior of the GM twins is way ahead of the Ford.
I have driven the Expedition EL with the 3.5. It is more pleasant to drive than the GM 5.3, but due to the better interior, I would still choose the GM. My suggestion would be to find one with the 6.2, and you would have the best of both worlds.
No, we are just in the research stage right now. I like doing extensive research before going to the lot, my husband is pretty impulsive, so I have to know things before hand to keep him in check ;) I do agree from the pictures the GMs look much nicer than the fords. Why has it been so long since they did an update? They have updated their trucks, and even their explorers (I think I have seen a diffirent looking explorer), why do their expedition look exactly the same as they did 5+years ago?
That's good to know GM is offering to pay most of the cost of the dash, bc I heard it continues to happen with the replacements. GM is saying it's not a safety issue, but to me I can't see how it would not be, if your airbag deployed your cracked dash would then turn into shrapnel, especially that the cracks tend to happen on the airbag area. I saw one picture you could actually see the airbag from the hole the crack created, I would think that would have to be a safety issue.
