TT has an LCI Electric Tongue Jack but when connected to TV will not allow the tailgate to open more than about half way. It looks like a few more inches of clearance would allow tailgate to fully open, but only option I can find is a manual tongue jack. Does any one know of any other tongue jacks or mods that would get me the few inches I am looking for?Thanks,Chris

Sounds to me like all you can do is have a welding shop move the location of the jack. Or put a air gate on like 5th wheeler's use if that would give you your clearance.

Believe the jack on our HTT and the new TT are both Ultra 3500's and there is plenty of clearance for the tailgate on our F-150 to open. Possible your truck has a higher/taller bed, so a bigger tailgate. Have never heard of this before.

I may have just found a solution. I have an Equalizer hitch which I believe has a 12" X 2" shank. Equalizer has an 18" X 2" shank which will give me an additional 6" of clearance which should be enough to allow the tailgate to open.Chris

I also had this prob on a chev avalanche (I think) and had a barker elec jack and just loosened the allen set screws and turned it 180degrees, like someone else suggested, and it cleared thetailgate.
But new trailer has an LCI jack ...will have to check this spring to see if it can be turned as it hit the tailgate on a 2500 chev pu....hmmm

I have the same problem with my Dodge hd 2500. The tailgate just hits the motor and what a pain getting in the back of the truck. I had planned on making a new sub plate and turn the whole jack but after reading this, I will look at just turning the head. A big thanks here.

My 2011 F150 has the same issue. I need to get a stinger that's maybe 2 or 3 inches longer.

you turn the jack head not the whole jack, and turn it 90*...

Too late, I have one. Oddly ebough, my 2005 Tundra's tailgate wasn't a problem, but the 2010's tailgate is. I got a longer drawbar for my pop up. As for the Rockwood, I'll look into rotating the power jack.

I had the same issue with my 2007 1500 Silverado and both receivers are flush with the bumper.

I turned my Ultrafab head 180 degrees. It now clears my tailgate by about an inch. The truck and trailer needs to be almost parallel for it to clear. If the TV is slightly angled it will still hit. TV is a F150.
