read that other thread. somebody seems to think that that $99 special is a $99 special, not a $250 one with over/under protection, delayed restart, etc.

To expand on what lantley is saying, do not hand over any money until everything is in working order and the pdi is done to your satisfaction. Be prepared to leave the tt there if necessary.

My first thoughts are curb your enthusiasm. Getting a new RV is very exciting But don't pit the cart before the horse. Focus on the PDI and only the PDI.
Before you get to caught up with accessories make sure the entire RV works and that everything is to your satisfaction.
That means check every valve switch latch catch,outlet,connection, lock holder, handle etc. Fill tanks and run pump. Attach hose and run water at all fixtures and check for leaks.
If it is not working and you don't discover it until down the road consider it your fault for not checking.
Don't let them rush you and take your time be very focus and systematic to check every thing out.
Do not sign or accept until you are satisfied. Until you take deliver you have leverage and hold all the cards.
Once the PDI is over the dealer has leverage and you are now their schedule and priority list.
Many of the issues and horror stories encountered on this forum could be eliminated if the owners took time to do a very complete PDI.
Be patient and business like but make sure everything is in order including checking roof and inspecting beneath the trailer. Assume nothing!
Let your salesman know up front that you plan to take some time to inspect the trailer. Make sure the dealer has a clear understanding that you expect the RV to be 100% in order at the time of PDI.
Good Luck a careful thorough PDI will save you a lot of aggravation, frustration, headache and heart ache down the road.
Consumers could instantly improve the quality control within the RV industry. If they all learned how to do a effective PDI.

correct. just the calgon water softener and liquid detergent. I use the tide I keep in the TT for doing laundry when I need to. make sure you get calgon water softener not fabric softener.

a basic tool kit... a good cordless drill to run stab jacks up and down (and socket to match, size slipped my brain just now), white fresh water hose (50 ft), rhino sewer hose (50 ft), clear elbow for sewer hose, flush wand and hose if you don't have an installed black tank flush, water pressure regulator, air compressor/battery charger/jumper, good proportional brake controller, wdh w/ integrated sway control, some basic dishes, silverware, cups, pots/pans, toiletries, cleaning supplies, trash can, heavy duty wheel chocks, lynx levelers, wooden blocks to put under tongue and stab jacks, flashlights, lantern, chairs to sit on. you can get the patio mat and awning lights down the road. remember you don't need every gadget and cool thing right away. pace yourself as this is an expensive hobby. Also videotape your pdi. make them show you how to winterized and dewinterize, hitch up and unhitch your wdh on that video. Do yourself a favor and read about the geo method for black tanks. Congrats on the new TT and may it bring you many happy camping trips.

Did you get a truck to tow it?

All good suggestions, going to our local walmart today to see what they might have(not a supewallmart), and will also hit up the dollar stores. Some things I will have to get as I go along, but I am making a list and this gives me a great place to start.

Do you have a good hitch? I really like my Blue Ox.
