Our experience with a built in Onan has been positive. We've never run out of propane and have run the AC all night on many occasions. We have 3 large type 31 AGM batteries, 150 watts of solar and do pay attention to conditions. The Onan is not annoying inside but we're careful not to operate with others close by in quiet locals.
It is very important to run the gen at least monthly, with a load, to prevent moisture build up in the unit.
