Well, all I can say in my defense is that there are times when doing the unrational thing is the right thing to do. The boss and I spent a lot of time discussing it, and decided that the Manhattan part was doable, which was the only part of the trip that concerned me. We knew it wouldn’t be fun, but wasn’t beyond our capabilities.
After finishing her appointment, we needed to head north up the Hudson Valley to Croton, so we drove up Madison Ave, crossed the river on the Madison bridge, and got on I87, then US9. The traffic was truly nuts until we got on 9. Hopefully we won’t need to make a trip like that again for a good long time.
