Where can I find a good mattress that is a little smaller than a queen.

If you are looking for a mattress with a total thickness of 5", a typical mattress is not going to work. Instead consider a piece of dense foam 4" thick with a 1" memory foam topper. You can buy appropriate foam from numerous suppliers. I had good luck with buyfoam.com. I would suggest calling to determine the best density for your use.
If you are willing to increase the mattress thickness to 6-8" you will have a lot of choices. I would recommend looking at Overstock.com.
In any case do not try to find an inner spring mattress. Foam is much more durable, comfortable and lower cost.
