The Visteon Sterling 10.5" rear axle is rated at 9750 lbs before being derated for use in the F250. The Dana 60 front has a 7250 lb rating if you have 4wd.
OEM 18" rims are rated for about 3500 lb each and 17" rims are rated for less, so you really need to upgrade rim and tire to be safe.
I chose 4500 lb rated Vision Heavy Hauler 81 rims and 245/70R19.5 PR16 LRH tires.
Not sure what you are saying here. The actual axle rating is higher than what is on my sticker?
Nobody knows (except maybe Ford) where the numbers on your sticker came from, it surely is not engineering. The stock rear axle is actually rated at 9750 lbs (same one in the F350) and your limiting factor is the OEM tires and rims.
On my F250 I picked Vision Heavy Hauler 81 rims and 265/70R19.5 LRG tires.
