It seems like some of the people on this site will tell you that GVWR does not matter and then tell you how to spend thousands of dollars "Upgrading" your truck to handle the weight. A good place to start is by weighing your truck and then you will be able to figure out your available payload. If you want to use axle ratings or GVWR is the decision you have to make you will find plenty of people telling you one or the other. Be careful of salespeople some will tell you your truck can handle a lot more then it can to get that sale.
