If you haul a 2600 LB camper, you will be close to 4000 lbs by the time you add two occupants, water, gear and tongue weight.
Why would I drive around with water tanks full? Can't I just hook up at camp grounds? Not planning on doing boondocking, just camp sites. All gear will be in trailer weight besides passengers. Plan to unload camper so can use truck to go around and get bait for fishing etc. Can't you stay in these campers off the truck too?
I suppose if you pack light you can save some weight. My 2600lbs dry camper weighs ~4000lbs on the truck, packed ready for camping.
Then again, I'm always setup for dry camping.
