I have a TC but envy the basement storage space on the B+ motorhomes. There is also the aspect of the Mercedes 5-cylinder diesel engine in the Sprinter chassis that get 23-25 MPG which is double what I get with my diesel truck and cabover camper.
If you want a truck when you are not camping go the slide-in camper route. If you want the lowest possible cost and ease of use get a Class C motorhome. Anything will be a compromise of one kind or another.
I picked up 30 bags of potting soil and 26 plants in one gallon containers in my truck today. Not something I would have done with a motorhome or my Prius. On weekend trips we will take our bicycles in the back of the pickup which has a fiberglass cap, and use this extra space for day long fishing trips. It is a matter of lifestyle and I have always had at least one truck my entire driving life.
