TC organization

In the process of moving from a class A to smaller truck camper. Weight and efficient use of space will be paramount. What are some of the best organizational tips out there?

  • The utility bodies are the best way to go but you will probably need a truck rated higher than a F-350 dually. Remember, the more space you have, the more stuff you bring.
  • If you can dedicate a truck to the TC (or nearly-so), look at a utility body. You can have as much outdoor storage as a Class C, only it's more secure b/c it's made of metal. Some bodies can be custom-made to fit your camper (like Douglass Truck Bodies) but they're more expensive (like up to $10k just for the body).

Obviously you can drive a utility body around town so the truck doesn't have to be "dedicated" to the camper, but lots of folks don't want to do that.

Here are some pics of what I'm talking about: Clicky

I'm planning to do this in about 4-5 years when my son graduates, and I'm gonna put the batteries and big inverter in the truck, then just plug the camper into the truck. That way I'll always have 120v power even when the camper isn't attached.
