I have both a camper and a toyhauler and family of 4 kids are 8 and 12.For river lake trips we use the camper most time is spent outside anyways sleeping is fine for now my 8 year old daughter sleeps off to the side of the cabover bed in one of the pockets we built it up extra blankets.My son sleeps on the dinette bed.If we are all in it at the same time while not sleeping then it does get tight.
The trailer we use for desert trips but for weekend trips to other places like mammoth or kern river we usually take the camper.Yes it takes more work to get camper on truck vs hooking up the trailer but not towing anything easily makes up for the lost time plus we can get into smaller places easier.Most of the summer the camper stays on the truck anyways.
