TCM "Buyers Guide"??

I notice in the Truck Camper Magazine "Buyers Guide" that one of the more popular manufacturers in not listed. Is OUTFITER out of business? OR is this so called "Buyers Guide" just another form of adverising by companies that paid to be included? I enjoy the online magazine, but wish the guide was a little better organized, ie., some of the lengths are measured in inches, and other in feet, so it is hard to compare.:?

Thanks, Math never was my thing. I never thought I'd need to use a calculator to read a magazine.

Just comparing your paid advertisers is kind of like the Realtor who only shows their own companies listings, because they make more commission when they sell one. Not in the best interest of the buyer.

My guess is they are in business to make money, which having paid advertisers can make a difference. Now, they could have free advertising and charge readers.

Personally, I take all magazines newspapers and such with a grain of salt. When have you ever read a negative comment about a product? If it is news, it is usually embellished/exaggerated to draw attention.

I can't see why any "Buyers Guide" should be expected to have every manufactures product. Another thought is why should they include every TC manufactured? There are several TCs not included.

It could be made clearer if it was stated where the information came from, the magazine or manufacture.
  • Or maybe you could email Gordon and Angela and express your opinion to them...
  • Yep, if the manufacturer doesnt pay whats required to be sponsored with the magazine, they dont get mentioned in the buyers guide. Thats why you have to look beyond TCMs guide if you want to compare "all" the TCs out there.
  • Like most buyer's guides, it includes mostly advertisers of that particular site/magazine. TCM is the same.
