sleepy, I'm not sure who you are calling doubters and why. If it was me, then note I was saying that people probably aren't going to go batty from operating the slide once every couple of hours. I didn't question how many times someone should or shouldn't go in and out of "their" camper.
As far as the how many times did I go in or out Today, I've only gone out so far, so I'm probably a bad example. My slide would still be open with no issues. ;)
I'm sorry jimh425 ... I hadn't noticed what you said when you responded to ....mkirsch Below is your quote in it's entirity.

Even 5 in's and 5 out's a day would be enough to drive one batty. That doesn't even take the excessive wear and tear on the slide into consideration.
Of course, we all use our TCs differently, but I call BS on 5 cycles of in and out in an entire day driving someone batty unless they are almost there already. ;) I'm still wondering how many times actually need something from the back, but really quickly. In the case of barely making it, the time to open the slide could in theory be a consideration, but for that a Class A/B/C would be better.
I also don't think wear and tear is an important consideration unless you are buying a first or second generation slide equipped TC. I'm sure that some of the first slides were fragile because I know by 2006, Host changed their approach a few times, Snow River obviously did, Lance did, Okanogan did, and so did many other manufacturers.
