sleepy, I'm not sure who you are calling doubters and why. If it was me, then note I was saying that people probably aren't going to go batty from operating the slide once every couple of hours. I didn't question how many times someone should or shouldn't go in and out of "their" camper.
As far as the how many times did I go in or out Today, I've only gone out so far, so I'm probably a bad example. My slide would still be open with no issues. ;)
What about this statement:

Seems like you're questioning it to me.
If you do have a TC with a slide, the next time you're packing up for a trip, do an experiment:
Run the slide out every time you have to enter the camper, and then run it back in every time you exit the camper. Whether you need to or not. Every trip you make from the house to the camper with provisions. I'm sure it takes at least 2-3.
Then get on the road. As soon as you feel any sort of urge, stop, run the slide out, do your business, and run the slide in. Instead of stopping at a restaurant for lunch, run the slide out, eat, and run the slide in. Repeat for the stop at Walmart for last-minute items you forgot at home. When the food coma hits, pull off, deploy the slide, and take a nap. Make one more bathroom break in the late afternoon.
All the while make note of your attitude as you sit there waiting for the slide to deploy or retract. Betcha $20 your attitude about running the slide in and out starts to darken around lunchtime.
