Television for RV use.

I have a 32 inch Samsung in my trailer. ( 2 years ago $200.00 ) no special mount. it is HARD mounted to the counter top. STEEL brackets with bolts and washers. no soft rubber spacers or anything..,,,,,
no issues over thousands of miles.

there are NO vacuum tubes .. to break.. these new LED types are Tuff.

One thing to remember when purchasing a TV for the RV is to look at the viewing angle, if you can go to the store and sit lower then off to each side to see what it looks like at those angles. A DVD player is also nice to have.

Most times in a RV you wont be looking straight on at it. I found out the hard way after buying and returning 2 TVs, that sometimes at those angles the screen is washed out or black making them un-viewable.

After buying and returning a Samsung and a RCA I found a Insignia that has a much larger viewing angle, 178 horizontal and 178 vertical viewing angles.

In my RV with the TV in the front or the rear bedroom you have to look up at it. This TV works great in both areas. The DVD quality is excellent.

Junked both my Jensen TV's. Replaced with Vizio.
Jensen not worth the high cost.

I have or have had, Samsung, Visio, Sony and Insignia flat panel television sets in my rigs and never had a failure in the RV. I've experienced troubles with all those brands at home but never on the road. With my previous rig, 1990 Bounder, I bought only sets that used plug in switching power supplies so I could hook directly to the 12 vdc outlets. Even my BluRay players are hooked up directly to the house batteries.

The Adventurer has a 32" Sharp that is 20 vac only and a Sony BluRay that is also 120 volt only. The bedroom set and player are both Insignia and are 12 volts.

My only concern with the 12 volt sets is that they are always in standby when not in operation and are one of the biggest parasitic draws on the house batteries. I installed switches between the batteries and the 12 volt sockets in the Bounder but I'm still working on that for the Adventurer.

So I guess you can consider me in favor of LED sets with 12 volt capabilities.

I replaced both my old TVs with Samsung, 32" LED/LCD in living room and 21" LCD in bedroom. Both still fine after 5 years of bouncing down the road.

Also consider a SmartTV feature, for Netflix, Pandora, etc... Very nice if your CG has good WiFi.

good point; We use Chromecast in our TT and if no wifi available we use our phone Data. Only use it for those special movie nights, works great - no data or wifi, no problem; UNO cards are always fun.

a ROKU does this on a dumb tV.

Not only do our Sony and Samsung hdtvs handle the bouncing and shaking of RVing, they live in our rig fulltime and can withstand intense heat and frigid temps that come and go with the seasons. I've been in the electronics industry for over 30 years and most in the business consider Jensen products to be low end by comparison.

Since I just recently became a fan of "Black Friday" I have had a bargain basement 55" Smart TV in the MH for two year's plus now( a 300.00 +/- value a couple year's ago). Have had Vizio's, Emerson ect 32" for even longer with NO issues at all. I hate to say it, but TV's have become throw away items nowadays unless you have to have the latest and greatest!
