Tell me your opinion about rear kitchens

I knew full well that a rear kitchen can be problematic in a TT but I liked the Bullet 24RKS so much that I bought it anyway. After 9 weeks on some pretty rough roads, I think I have learned how to deal with most anything and there isn't much left to break. We are thinking about Alaska again next summer though, and I need more ideas before taking that on. Need advice, suggestions, etc. lizzie

  • I had a 5th wheel with a rear kitchen for 6 or so years. I never noticed any problems with breakage, etc. I did not experience anything different from any other kitchen location I've had except now I prefer a rear seating area to take advantage of the large rear windows when parked at a lake or beach setting.
  • We have had the rear kitchen for the last 3 years and no more problems than when we had a front kitchen. I had people tell me "you will be sorry if you buy a rear kitchen". No problem with anything breaking or shifting around
  • Our rear kitchen has never been a problem. My guess is that those having problems don't have shocks. JAWAG.
  • This has been discussed many times here so if you want to do a search, you can enjoy some marginally fascinating reading...
The gist will be that they are fine. We have had one for 11 years and would do it again. Things don't move around in the fridge or cabinets any more than they did with our old mid-kitchen design.
