300 is about right but a pick up should have more room for battery in lieu of engine and drive train.
Tesla also sold the issue of charging stations that's now on the average below 200 miles from each other coast to coast.
This pickup won't be a viable tow vehicle. I'll be impressed if it will be able to tow a high profile trailer 100 miles before needing a charge, and that's not a very viable range for most users. You are also going to have a charge time problem with these giant batteries compared to a standard car EV. The technology just isn't far enough along yet.
Considering that they are demonstrating semi's now I think that they have a pretty good idea of what it takes to pull a trailer. However, a long range battery could easily cost from $20k to $30k by itself.
