Forget the survey monkeys and self proclaimed pundits. Check with your actual utility. Is SATX San Antonio TX? Is that CPS energy?
CPS Energy is embracing plug-in vehicles
Jersey Central seems to encourage EVs
As for that single wire power transmission line.... is your phone still on a party line too? Perfect reason to pull the other two wires and get proper three phase power to your area. How long do you plan to have this out dated line limit the local economy and growth? Dang it this is America... get moving already. We were once a nation of doers instead of whiners.
So two utilities speak for all 500+ utilities?
No. I just chose the two that seemed relevent to the comments and locations of the immediate discussion. You are right the other 497 could be all negative to expand services revenue and profit.
The other one is mine, SCE, and they are also embracing EVs.
The whole whitewash we have been hearing since at least the '60s to give your appliances the afternoon off is just propaganda from the local government or regulators. Utilities want growth and this is the ticket to save them.
Look at the growth since 1950.... Then growth somehow stops about year 2000.
Why must it now become static? Why can we not grow the grid as we did for 50 years straight. The grid has NEVER been ready for 10 years in the future and yet we got there time and again.
