The biggest problem I see with this idea is that NO charging station I've ever seen was set up for a vehicle towing a trailer. They are usually at the head of a parking spot, often a small one. If you pulled up to any of the chargers I've seen your trailer would be blocking a travel lane or multiple other parking spots. If you tried to pull up to the charger broadside you would be blocking other parking spots and often other chargers that are lined up with the one your using.
So, if towing with this catches on, they have to rebuild all the charging areas again.
The last 4 vehicles I bought: Chevy dually, 2500 Suburban, Buick sedan, and Jeep Grand Cherokee didn't add up to $48,000. I'll pass.
