Tesla is far from the first EV builder but it is the first major manufacturer of from the ground up EV's. Others are starting, the I3, I Pace and Etron are all ground up EV designs but the Leaf, Hyundai/Kia EV;s, Bolt, E Golf etc are all based on ICE platforms.,
