Test drove a new Chevy D/A Dually today

Oh My....what a truck.

I wanted to post something about the experience, but I can't think of the words. It just felt right, Huge TQ, yet smooth delivery, like a freight train.. the power just rolls on pulling harder and harder...

My V10 pulls hard.. but it was a totally different type of pull...

The experience was a nice one and I totally understand why folks want diesels, especially like that one.

My V10 puts a grin on my face when 400 lb ft of torque are pulling on the truck... but 765 lb ft of torque... oh, that grin is a bit wider :)..

Thanks!

Jeremiah

Nothing beats the power and smothness of the D/A - unless the Ram with the new Cummins and Aisin can do it?
Don't need a new one for that. My '04.5 has lots of power and smoothness.
  • Chevy/GM D/A is a proven combo...I owned three of them, last two were dually's in LTZ trim....never had the first problem with any of them.
As stated, Ford, GM/Chevy and Ram all offer a great truck to tow with, pick the color you like, get the best deal and enjoy....
  • I don't think you can go wrong with any of the big three diesels, just personal preference. But I am very pleased with our new Silverado so far.
  • There is no comparison when towing with a diesel compared to a gasser...

  • You should try the new Ford diesel, it is Quiet! And has plenty of power to boot!

I see a new truck in your driveway soon.

Even the gas 6.2L has a lot more power than the older V10's had.

  • I'm predicting your next post will be "BOUGHT a new Chevy D/A Dually today":B
  • Don't get me to thinking about a new truck. The one I have pulls fine and I don't need any drama in my relationship. But, it is an '07. Maybe if I...nah, I just have to tune out the voices, is all.
  • I have 3 friends with 3 different brands. All say awesome trucks for power and quiet running.
