- INSAYNExplorerThis year was our 5th year taking the TC to the beach for Turkey day. My parents follow us over and we have Thanksgiving either in their trailer, or like this year out on the picnic table.
We hit up a campground that has an indoor pool/spa for us to play and relax in, and if the weather isn't completely crappy, we spend time walking the dogs on the beach. This year was great! We had full on turkey dinner with all the fixings out on the picnic table with roughly 60 degree clear sunny weather to enjoy it.
We will probably continue to do so as long as we can. :C - stevenalNomad IITook our camper on the Over the River and Through the Woods Scenic Byway to go to my brother's for Thanksgiving. One night in his driveway, another at my sister's. Sure beats sleeping on the floors. Got a little hiking in at Smith Rock and Tumalo Falls before returning.
- BobTowneExplorerWe've camped over holidays in the past, both driveway and real camping, and we enjoyed both. This year we had the family over to our house for Thanksgiving. It was a lot of work for my wife, but we had a great time. We hope everyone here had a fine holiday, too.
- tktplzExplorerTook the TC 300 miles south to New Orleans to be with relatives. It was still cold but not bad, 40's at night and mid 50's in the day, mostly sunny. I found out if I take the back roads and stay @ 55 to 60 mph I get 15 MPG as compared to 70 on the freeway @ 11 MPG. Saved $46.00 in gas round trip and it added 40 minutes to the trip each way.
Got to see music, Tryptophunk & Gravy, went to a small liquor store and tasted many single malt scotches, excellent food and came back 1 pound lighter than when I left. 2013 has been a bad year for the family, 4 deaths this year but it was nice to see extended family and be thankful for what we do have.
Here are some pix.

All in all a nice break from the very normal life I live. I've got to get out more, LOL! - bobndotExplorer IIWe had a nice family dinner near home, so we didn't have to use our tc this year as we do for our family New Years party every year . It's nice to have the tc in someone's driveway so we can party away and not have to drive .
We also use our tc as our bedroom. Couldn't agree more how nice it is to sleep in your own bed.
It was a nice day to give thanks for all the things we have in life and to remember the ones that have passed , they were all with us in spirit and their memories will last forever.
I guess this is good time for me to say thank you to all the members here who have advised me and continue to teach me . It always amazes me to see your talent to the repair, add-on and rebuilding projects that people do.
It's a thank you not only our truck camper family but to everyone from tenters to M/homers that offer advise and help to others.
It's a time to keep our rv friends and families in mind that have left us over the years. They were our teachers and it's up to us to carry on their legacy.
Thanks to all and keep safe ,
Bob and Dot - Nothing planned, nothing happened either. No big dinner. No camping. Camper is off the truck for the winter.
I worked on my farm truck some yesterday though:

New door: - DoneItAllExplorerNot camping over Thanksgiving but leaving on Sunday for a quick overnight with my sister and brother-in-law. Off the following weekend to the beach. Great time of the year to be camping - cool and much less crowded.

- gmgagaExplorerWe headed down to New Orleans. We are staying at Bayou Segnette State Park. We had poboys and gumbo in the French Quarter. Kids had a blast.
- bka0721Explorer III am celebrating my 4th Thanksgiving, in my Truck Camper, out on the plains of Eastern New Mexico/South Western Kansas. Beautiful out here and I am grateful for all the blessings I have had since the last Thanksgiving. My Family is back in Colorado, but my thoughts are to them and my travels ahead. See most of you guys, in the spring, when many of you uncover and load up your truck campers in the New Year.
Safe travels to all of my old and new found Truck Camper friends!
