I do that anyway ;)
LMAO... :B- profdant139Explorer IIWe often see bears in the Sierras -- they usually run away. (Grizzlies in the Northern Rockies are a whole different story.) And we see rattlers, but usually only below 6000 feet. So Charlie, come on out to California, to the High Sierra, and you can relax! The only thing scary about coming to California is the price of gas -- about a dollar more per gallon than back in the USA. ;)
- CavemanCharlieExplorer IIII'm never leaving southern MN / Northern Iowa again. Between the Bears and Snakes you all keep scaring me with I'm afraid to.
- hohenwald48ExplorerI saw a sign the other day that said "That which does not kill you makes you stronger, except bears. Bears will kill you."
- bobndotExplorer IIAre we sure this bear was not a former RV mechanic at a major RV repair facility ? Looks like one of my TT's where they tried to repair my furnace. :S

If we are so far out in the boonies that there is no trash bin nearby, we hang our trash from a rope in a tree far from the trailer.
The campground bears are NOT afraid.
Wild bears...are generally shy and will veer away from anything human.
I make a point of peeing around the perimeter of where ever I'm set up. Seems to keep the varmints away.
I drink a lot of beer...so I manage to get the perimeter covered in a hurry. :) - rbpruExplorer IIWhen tent camping, it is best to leave the tent door unzipped and open when you are not there. The bears are going to check for food and they are not good with zippers.
- profdant139Explorer IIIf we are in a campground, we do use the bear box. When we are boondocking, we can't. If we are so far out in the boonies that there is no trash bin nearby, we hang our trash from a rope in a tree far from the trailer.

The Bears around here just open car doors. No big deal!:o
Yup, I've seen a car door just ripped off. - bobndotExplorer IIAt your house too if you live in bear country. Friends of mine have this issue, they now leave a portable radio on outside, very low volume , on a talk news chan. So far , it has worked.
