In 1962, i purchased a Dodge, 2500 series, HD manual trans, i think with the 318 CU V -8 for less than $2,100 dollars, and that was a NEW truck. My 1998.5 Dodge 2500 series, Cummins powered, loaded was a little less than 30,000 grand.
I'll bet your take home pay wasn't anything to write home about either back then...as compared to todays wages.
In 1969 I bought a new 1969 VW Beetle Deluxe 1500cc....for the grand sum of $ 1969....a dollar for each year. But back then I made about $ 285 a month.
Inflation...I suppose.
