Well, a class 3 truck has a better safety margin than a class 2. And a class 4, than a class 3. We can go on and on and on and on.
Bottom line, Ford tested and warrantied the Ecoboost to certain standards. Unless you can find PROOF that the Ecoboost is a radically unsafe or over rated vehicle, your opinion is simply an opinion.
Ford says it can handle the weight. Plenty of people pull trailers up to (and probably OVER) that weight and I haven't seen any NHTSA investigation into the unsafe 8800 GVWR "half ton" trucks. I haven't seen news story after news story about some guy that was hauling 2700 lbs of payload in his "half ton" truck and the axle exploded on the roadway.
