Dunno.. My Crystal Ball is in the shop right now... ha, ha.. :)
Yes, that's a smart ass statement.. I know that..
What NO ONE KNOWS is how something is going to tow in comparison to how something towed before that..
Even if it has the same weights (yet, yours is going to be a little bit more), there is a variable in just how the new trailer is designed, where are the axles placed in relation to the tongue?, what is the other ?? See, there are too many variables to just tell you one way or the other..
All you can do at this point is just pull the trigger on it and see how it works for you.. Setup and weight distribution can be the difference between a great tow to a tow from hell..
I like my trailers to have the axles placed farther back on the trailer. Yes, that gives you more tongue weight, but it tows a lot better...
Some trucks can't handle a lot of tongue weight.. Most 1/2 tons are in the #1000 to #1150 tongue weight range for just the hitch alone.. MAX.. With WD and all the fancy sway control hitches..
I'd rather go over on payload than exceed the hitch rating.. Ever watch a hitch under load and how much flex they have?? It'll scare you to see how much they actually flex while going down the road..
Anyway, I can't say one way or the other on how you will do with that new trailer..
Good luck!
Mitch
