Do any of you drive your TV around town, without trailer? What sort of mpg do you see then?
I'm starting to think there is something wrong with my new Dodge. I'm getting 9.6 mpg towing nothing... 2013 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi
My 6.6l Duramax with about 2,800 miles on it is getting between 15-16 mpg combined city/highway driving. That was during the winter with winter blend fuel and letting it idle 10-15 minutes twice per day. My old Silverado with the 5.3l used to get 18.5 mpg doing the same driving.
Boy, you should have kept that Silverado. I have a 2004 with the 5.3 and in mixed city country driving the most I usually see is 14. Maybe 15 on a good day.
I know. That truck was hard to let go of because of the mpg. I bought it new and it always got exceptional mileage.
BUT..it was a 2006, 2 WD, with 3:23 gears so it wasn't much good for towing. I felt kind of stupid because I didn't realize that at first. I never really towed anything with the truck other than a pop-up or an occasional utility trailer until 2009 when we bought our current TT. That's when it became apparent.
It did ok with 5,500 lbs. loaded but that was about it. Lesson learned...I'm not going to have that problem with this truck.
