I just bought my first TC, And just went on my first journey. And I wont ever get rid of my TC. I left Oklahoma going through Moore Oklahoma before the f5 hit in may, and I drove all the way to Santa Rosa New Mexico, By then I was worn out so I pulled in a loves truck stop hopped in back and went to sleep. How nice and convenient. The next night we were at the Grand canyon right at dark 30, All camping places were filled to the max. The front desk was closed and there was a sign on the door that said go on in and enjoy your stay. We were at Grand canyon park just out of Williams Arizona. So I drove right in an parked in a car space that said no travel trailer allowed in this lot. I walked about 50 yards and was standing on the south Rim at Mathers point. I sat down on a park bench for a spell and went back to the camper and went to sleep. The next morning when the sun came over the north rim I was there to see it. The sunlight also revealed I was parked by the Bathrooms, picnic tables and General store, Keep in mind this was memorial day weekend and there was no available camper hook up in under 100 miles. And here I was camped on the rim with bathrooms, running water and a store! I stayed for 3 days and nights and never had to payed a dime, Nor was I asked to move, nor asked one question. One night 2 older pro campers walked by and from inside the camper I could hear them talking, One of them said I cant believe that 1/2 ton f150 is holding up to that truck camper, And they sure would not have believed it if they had seen my Oklahoma plates, which they might have. Then we headed for Bakersfield California to see the wife's folks, where we encountered a wind storm in what I called the providence mountains, (And I spoke to my Father in heaven and promised him if he would let me make it out of this wind Alive I would by a Cummins Turbo Diesel 3/4 ton truck) Which I did as soon as I got home. Back to the story/ When we arrived in Bakersfield we pulled up in the families yard plugged in and went to sleep/ How nice!, We left there for Cambria which is on the pacific Coast where we had a beach house reserved for 2 nights, And then to Cyucos near Morrow bay and San Louis Obispo and swam and spent time on the Beach. My point is We traveled almost 5000 miles and never had to make a reservation, or stay in a motel, or rent a rv space because of the TC. It saved me thousands of dollars, and allowed me to camp on the Rim of the Canyon where not one other person could legaly camp, And for free! I love my truck camper.
