I think you're totally on the right track. Worry free on the gasser truck.
Dually is a big plus for stability and I wouldn't worry about the width on trails as the camper is as wide or wider anyway.
Fiberglas clam shell is the best for durability for sure.
The convienence of an on board generator is nice but I prefer the simplicity and quiet of separate 2kw genset.
