Addendum: from my experience and observation of that of others, there is no indestructible RV. Pick the best you can find (and I repeat that I think your choices sound good), check it often, and know how to use your own tools or how to procure service when needed. You are basically going to be taking your house out and bouncing it up and down the road. Things will come loose. Water will attempt to come inside or to get outside of its pipes. The sun will do bad things to your vent covers and such.
Gotcha. Yeah - have kind a started down the road of thinking about all the spare parts I'll need to keep in a big Rubbermaid container in the rear of the CrewCab. Pipe seal/tape, fuses, chainsaw for clearing downed trees, spare water pump, tire pump/jump starter, tools, etc. There are also many RV dealers where I'll be going (North West). I've read that the first thing you do is run eternabond tape over everything even remotely resembling a pinhole or larger on all horizontal roof surfaces and clear caulk everything vertical with an opening larger than the diameter of an atom.
Have a listing of all the truckstops, Walmarts and rest areas with this link:

Familiarized myself with the FS, BLM and State websites, MVUMs, etc.
Will have an inReach Explorer GPS/SOS, maps and am going to download the maps for whatever area I'll be in from Google maps (cool feature) for offline navigation via cell phone.
Thought I had it nailed with the Northern Lite but will be looking over the Northstar here soon. A lot of the FS/BLM/State forest roads in the Oregon forests are fairly widely cleared as there's many a campground nearby. Have learned that the first thing I should look for is a nearby campground, check the status of the campground on the corresponding FS, BLM or State website and then plan on using that FS road as the main ingress point. Satellite on Google maps helps too, but of course those maps can be pretty old.
Thanks for the tips!
