If you are planning a lot of off-road use, I would suggest paying close attention to camper width. I go off-road quite a bit in the deserts and some forest. My rig is 7 feet wide and I would not want to go ANY wider. Even at 7', I have stuff banging into the camper all the time. Width (and build quality) was a significant factor in my Northstar choice.
I agree with this. My 87" wide Tiger has desert pinstripes from squeezing through tight spots. My pre-Tiger rig was only 81" wide; I really felt that extra 6" when I bought the Tiger.
Height is also an issue on some of the roads I drive and is one reason why I have a Tiger with almost nothing on the roof instead of a TC. No AC, no railing; solar was not The Thing when I bought the Tiger in 2006 and I have not added it. Were I to get a new rig now, I'd ease up on the height thing.
I still think that your choice of TC and truck models is a great one. Your options of where the rig will fit will be fewer than mine, but you will do fine.
