I put "resale value of the diesel" right up there with "exceeding GVWR is illegal" as the two top myths about RV towing and hauling.
You are NEVER going to get the $8000-$10000 price premium for the diesel back out of the truck at resale time. $8000 buys a LOT of gas. $8000 is $100 extra a month in an already ludicrous truck payment.
If you want it, fine. If you need it, fine. Just don't tell me to buy it as an "investment."
The fact of the matter is, good used heavy duty pickup trucks are highly desirable right now because there aren't that many of them around. Gas or diesel you are going to get a premium price for any truck with 8-lug wheels.
