My post was not meant towards the OP and his decision.
IMO his original setup will work wonderfully for his intended use. Being that it is his personal preference makes it a good choice, as welll.
The cost/resale argument is technically only true now. Not a one of us can predict 10 years down the road. If we could, wouldn't be sitting here talking about which is the most economical because we wouldn't care. We'd be filthy rich cause we could predict the future and would have a bevy of rigs for whatever situation or the color of our shirt was for the day!
