Good point. In Oregon diesel tax is 5.2 cents more than gas. Lots of different reasons why fuel is priced different from city to city and state to state.

Amen to that. We live in Volusia County, Fl. which imposes the highest local option fuel tax in Florida (on top of state/federal taxes). And yet the county is crying they lack sufficient funds for road improvement projects. Wonder if they ever considered how many people might be buying their fuel out of county if possible to avoid paying the county tax?
All you migrating snowbirds might want to keep this in mind as you head South and your travel takes you along I-95 or I-4, or US 17.
BTW: the 40-50 cent/gal spread between gasoline and diesel seems to be holding here, despite the drop in price of both fuel types.
