I once pulled to the curb with six inches between tire and curb and next to a telephone pole. What I didn't take into account was the crown of the road, height of the roof and a leaning pole. Did a job on the awning.
I measured from the top of the AC to the bottom of the wing and entered the measurement into my black book in the truck. Now I just have to measure from the wing bottom to the ground and add the two numbers to get total height.
