Thats really a nice feature with the phone app Jim. Just me but I'd make sure you have a password on your phone. Lose phone could mean lose truck :B
Nope, you still have to enter a password in the app to get it to do anything. Then if you don't have the key fob in your pocket and push the start button the truck will shut down. Plus it only runs for 15 min. up to three times.

Don why is it you would need the key fob to start the engine you already started from your smart phone? Maybe it will only run 15m without it on board? Then what the thief would be left without vehicle control of a 9k lb vehicle :M Just thoughts my friend.
Just a question here, you still have a "key" in the fob right? for
manual reasons. LOL like the local car jockey around here..
Rick here is how it works. First I "unlock my phone ;)" then I tap the "Uconnect Access app", tap the "Start Button", input a four digit lock code for the app to start the truck, the app will say "Remote start sent". The truck will run for 15 minutes or until you enter the vehicle and either put the key in the ignition or press on the brake and push the START BUTTON with the "Keyless" remote in the truck. If you do not have the key or the keyless fob and touch the brake pedal the truck will shut down.
There is no way to steal the truck without the key or keyless fob. My truck has the keyless system but yes there is a key in the key fob. So if the battery goes dead in the key fob you can still start the truck.
Don
It is the same as any remote start. You need to use the key to resume normal operations. But with push button start the key fob is your key.
Also, the remote starts I am familiar with will shut down or limit speed if attempted to move without the key. So you would not get up to 70 mph and get shut down.
