3:73 or 4:10, either would work...with D/A combo, believe only thing available is the 3:73, at least it was with the three that I owned....The 8.1 gasser came with the Allison and had 4:10 gearing.
Difference with Ram with 3:73 and 4:10 is GCWR....In my trucks configuration, 3:73 gives you a GCWR of 32,000# with 4:10, you get a GCWR of 37,500#.. 5er tow capabilities with 3:73 is 23,630#, with the 4:10 it's 29,130#...again, this is per Ram, "I" would never go that high, but I sure do have a lot of room to go heavier if I want. My 5er weighs in at 16,300# and a pin weight of 3400#...I'm STILL under my trucks GVWR and well under it's RAWR..
