Even if buying 3 Jayco's for the same total cost of 1 Airstream, this is what you'd very likely get:
Isn't is always interesting all other travel trailers are compared to Airstream. That, in its own way, makes Airstream the de facto standard to compare against for travel trailers. Jayco is made with a rubber roof, filon/gel sidewalls, traditional springs, etc. Or, for a little more money Airstreams come standard with an aluminum roof, aluminum sides (nothing to delaminate), and even comes with torsion axles. Typically you won't find torsion axles on low end travel trailers. If the OP wants an Airstream and has a budget of around $50,000 there are lots of good 'pre- owned' to choose from. I know my money would go pre-owned Airstream long before it ever went to new Jayco. But, everybody is different and if all you want to do is keep an RV for a few years then you have lots of choices. Sure, you are going to have to replace a few appliances in the Jayco and also the Airstream. Replacing the microwave is not even in the same hemisphere as replacing a rubber roof, or major delamination in the sidewalls. There are differences in travel trailers and many feel you do get what you pay for in an Airstream. They sell everyone they make. The factory even says the shape causes the trailer to be more aerodynamic and tows ten percent more efficiently if that is a consideration. And at the end of the day there is Airstream 'resale' and Jayco 'resale'.
