the one feature of my TC that I really hate

It the stupid ladder. More specifically its the fact that to get to two outside compartments (genny space that I use for fuels and chemicals and the compartment above it where I store extension cords and water hoses) you have to fold up the ladder. Furthermore no matter how hard I try I always end up hitting my head on the dang thing and half the time I draw blood.. So whats your pet peeve?

  • The only thing I use the ladder for is to strap lawn chairs to..I wouldn't have one it it hadn't come on the camper. I use the top hatch if I need to get on the roof..
  • I have an Eagle Cap 1160. The thing I hate most about it is putting the thing on and off the truck. By the time DW and I get the thing situated right we need tranquilizers. This is going on our third year and I still cannot get the hang of it we are very close to selling the unit.
  • The goofy turn cranks and small window openings on our AF990. I"m considering a large escape/vent hatch 26"
in place of fantastic fan for better ventilation. Our old Lance had one and I miss seeing the stars!
  • Probably a pool noodle, or it's close cousin, the 3/4" hot water insulation tubing, will provide a more comfortable way to hit your head, and probably stop the automatic blood draw.

  • Love the mobility and versatility... Go anywhere... any time. Just wish it was a 'Transformer TC', like an erector-set, folding out into a 35' fifth wheel for longer stays. I need a Barcalounger and 50" Samsung 1080p HDTV. My 22" Vizio HDTV and dinette seating is starting to cramp my style, not to mention my eyes & back. The climb into bed is getting higher and harder. My diuretic prescription is causing a hazard when I'm half asleep with not much time to negotiate that climb. Enough of the infirmaries. Suffice it to say, it's a bear getting old.:B
  • Hey buzcutt. I can TOTALY RELATE i have the same camper and same griipe AND scars lol. Yes it is annoying.

  • I know I do not have a truck camper, so please forgive me for chiming in. In my little camper trailer, the one thing I hate is that I can not close the bathroom door when I am sitting on the pot. When it is just me, it doesn't matter. But when I have my son and his friend on a trip with me, it is a problem. I usually implement the "liquids only" approach, but sometimes, you just gotta go!
  • What's mine? The fact that mine doesn't have a ladder. :)

Seriously, the one thing I really hate about mine is that I have to take a big step to get into the wet bath.
