Ah ... automotive mergers and hostile take overs! Oh yea! Reminds me of a story I've never forgotten.
MANY years ago now, Cheverolet and Toyota were in serious efforts to create a merger. They planned on making the "mega car", the car to beat all cars! The super-dupper car. And all it took was the merger between the 2 companies to make it happen. A marriage made in heaven .... until ...
At one of the combined board meetings where they were hammering out details for the merger and the name of the new car, a combination of the Corvette and the Corolla. When the name of the new car was finally presented ... the deal was off. It never happened.
What was the name of that new super-duper, cure all automobile ... why it was the Toy-Let! (I don't know if this is a true story, but I still chuckle every time of think of it!)
