Dumbest I have seen? In the 60's, Dodge Dart with a slant six cylinder engine.
You have to remove the whole air filter assembly to access the dipstick and check the oil.
Someone hacked it, because that was NOT the case!
Honestly, I have to say that in-tank fuel pumps aren't bad. The one in my Cherokee was original with 220,000 miles! The #1 cause of failure? Not changing the fuel filter!
