The STUPIDEST thing ever done by any OEM!!!

This has to be it. Washer nozzles in the hood. Whoever came up with this retarded idea should be FIRED!!! First it was the imports back in the 80's. Now every American OEM, GM, Ford and Chrysler has decided to use this idiot idea, even on some of their high end products like the Cadillac CTS, Ford super duty trucks as well as the Dodge Charger, just to name a few. What garbage.

Washer nozzles belong in one place, and one place only. ON THE WIPER ARM! Period. I had a 1978 Thunderbird that was this way. A design that was ahead of it's time. Ford had to go ruin it. My 1990 Ford E350 van has them on the wiper arms. For such an old van, someone was using their brain back then. My 2003 Cadillac Seville has them on the wiper arms. At least someone at GM cared enough to get it right on that car.

I hope the OEM's are reading this.

Rant over. Have a great day everyone. :)

  • I must disagree... When you look at all of the functional requirements for a nozzle (aim point, temperature, leaks, durability, etc.) The hood location is by far the best. What about this design don't you like?

And oh I'm not the guy who designed the hood location, but I know him. And he still works here!
  • Wiper mounted washer nozzles are more prone to freeze-up. I have better things to rant about.
  • Now this is why I come back to visit occasionally.
Some people just keep on making this place better and better. :)
  • If only this was the worst thing in my life to care about, my life would be awesome. :)
  • I for one have never had a particular problem with it, other than when the hood is covered in ice.
