Or double that with a diesel for less money in mods and still get 18 mpg cruising down the highway.

I can't even imagine only 600 ft lbs when I'm loaded down. It's nice to be able to drop the hammer and pull away even loaded.

You live in wrong area than.
Just drove today from No of Seattle to Portland. Took me 3 hr to make 100 miles on main freeway. (Thursday at noon, so no traffic expected)
Shure 440HP helped in changing lanes when I saw a sleeper in front.
With my driving it will take me over 15 years to get the mileage when the pump become a worry.
I rather enjoy the performance for 15 years and worry about maintenance later.

Buzz, What pump did you have installed? Invoice isn’t clear that I can see other than a “CP” listed. I’ve read the CP-3 is an option, but haven’t found if it’s compatible with my 2013 LML Chevy.

Latest version of the CP4. Just going to make sure that a lubricity agent gets added with every fill up. The truck gets less than 10,000 miles put on it every year so it's going to take a good long while until I worry about it again.

Tell me about it.....story of my life. Just my commute to my office from home is about 35min no traffic. Well over an hour if I leave the house anytime after 5:59am, lol.
The quickest commutes I've had in years is last winter when we had snow for a couple weeks straight, I could get to work quicker than dry roads because the majority of the population stayed home!

$1500 will buy you a new in the box CP3 and the conversion kit for a LML. Easy as pie.

Again, anyone with a CP4 Powerstroke, the new CP4 bypass kit appears to be pure genius and $350 to save a grenaded pump from ruining the whole injection system.
Unsure why they don't offer for the Duramax, maybe it's coming since the Pstroke kit is fairly new. Or could be retrofitted?

Knowing you come from Nevada, the city of Beatty, NV (read Area 51) has a dozen of Tesla charging stations. Never seen anybody using it when gas stations usually have waiting lanes.

Not sure why you think it is only good for stop and go traffic. This method has been in use for decades on trains that are Diesel Electric and they don't seem to have the same issue with stop and go traffic. Just a quick mental exercise, hypothetically a V8 Diesel engine of 400HP might only need (as a WAG) 150HP (112KW) to haul down the freeway on flat ground loaded with decent load. Couple a 250HP 4 Cylinder Turbo Diesel running at the most efficient constant RPM. Couple that to a generator that is 85% efficient and you get 158KW of power. That leaves 46KW to keep the batteries topped off. Yes, my numbers are just WAGs that could be off by a significant margin. I'm not hanging my hat on the accuracy of them but they are within the right order of magnitude I believe. What I see from this exercise isn't something that is impossible with today's technology, just impracticable at this time.

Right now the big 3 are still able to produce an engine that meets emissions and consumer expectations but the consequences related back to the OP in that the sophistication can impact reliability. As emissions standards continue to tighten, Manufacturers are going to be trying to figure out how to make trucks that comply and there will be a tipping point where making a series hybrid makes sense compared to Big Iron Diesels.

My truck is still within(barely) the 5-yr/100k motor warranty. I passed the 5yr/60k full powertrain last year. Still 100% bone-stock, no deletes, no chips, but also, no problems.

I've called two different dealers inquiring on extending the motor-only warranty... must not be worth thier time, neither has called me back.

ford-trucks.com thread about Ford extended warranties and includes suggestions on where to buy one. Might be a good idea if you stay stock.
